A new construction carriage house was designed to support a large family with a Great Room and additional flexible Living/Sleeping spaces. An outdoor porch and fire pit establish a new gathering space uphill from the main house, for more expansive views of the river below and more generous spaces for friends to gather and visit together. A combination of natural wood shingles and painted ship lap are used to speak to the original main house but also suggest a more contemporary atmosphere.
