SUITE SERENE

WESTPORT, Ma

This simplified Shingle Style home was dark and deep. It had been oriented to face an uphill rolling field and stone walls, but the deep roof overhangs obstructed this view, and blocked light. The Ground Floor Primary Suite was also inefficiently planned. Phase 1 of this renovation included a complete reconstruction of the Primary Suite to create two Walk In Closets, a luxurious, spa-like bathroom, and glass transoms to the ceiling to allow natural light further into the spaces. Natural materials including White Oak, natural brass, green marble, limestone, and undulating ceramic tile lend texture. Outside, the field-facing porch roof line was reconfigured to create a view from the bedroom out to the stone walls and sky, and to bring an abundance of light into the Main Living area.
