Under Construction

This townhouse was originally built in 1865 as a single family home, but converted into apartments in 1948. This particular unit needed not only a facelift but a complete systems overhaul. With the exception of the Living Room plaster ceiling, and one bedroom fireplace surround, the unit was gutted, and is under reconstruction now. Functioning as a Pied-A-Terre, There is a full Primary Suite, as well as a secondary bedroom that will include three bunks for grandchildren. The Kitchen was expanded, and a Mudroom was created off the Elevator. Interior archtop glass transoms are incorporated to bring light further into the space. In classic jewel box form, every inch of space has been utilized as efficiently as possible. All exterior windows were replaced with solid wood double hung units as required by the Back Bay Historic Commission.
